Our new convenient drop off site for payments of water, sewer, recycle bills and local citations is located one door south of the main entrance of 405 Main Street, it is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Water meters are read generally around the first of each month and the bills are due the 25th of each month. If paying after the 25th a late charge is added to your account.
Water is metered in Pecatonica. A water customer will receive a monthly bill based on the gallons of water going through the meter. Charge: $.49 per 100 gallons of volume used. A minimum charge of $2.59 for 0 gallons per month is also included.
Sewer is based on metered water. A sewer customer will receive a monthly bill based on the number of gallons of water which has gone through the meter. Charge: $.86 per 100 gallons of metered water consumption. A minimum charge of $16.08 for 0 gallons per month is also included.
Water and Sewer customers outside of the Village Limits will pay a different rate, check with the Village Clerk for those rates.
Garbage Pick-up: The Village has contracted Gills Freeport Disposal, Inc. You may contact Gills by calling 815-233-5644. Gills will pick up garbage and recycling items beginning at 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday mornings (exception: in the case of a National Holiday before the Wednesday pickup, pickup will be delayed one day). You are allowed unlimited garbage pickup.
Recycling: Each resident is allowed unlimited recycling pickup and is provided with one recycle bin, additional bins can be purchased at the Village Hall.
Items that can be recycled include, but is not limited to, newspapers, magazines, T.V. guides, glass bottles and jars, aerosol cans, aluminum and tin cans, plastic milk jugs, water bottles, two liter soda bottles, etc. Cardboard boxes will also be taken if broken down and bundled.
Check
with Gills Disposal for any additional items. Sorting of recycling items is
not necessary.
Restrictive Items include, but is not limited to, dirt, rocks, broken concrete,
hazardous waste, remodeling, repair or demolition materials, toilets, etc. Items such as
these can be picked up for a fee by contacting Gills Disposal direct. Bulky
items such as large furniture, stoves, water heaters, refrigerators (with freon
removed), etc. can be put at the curb on any regular pickup day and Gills will
dispose of them at no additional cost.
Yard waste such as grass clippings, leaves, garden refuse, small branches (bundled and
tied) will also be picked up on Wednesdays. Yard waste must be put in a
container marked with an "X" or put in brown yard waste bags. Yard
waste pickup is from April 1 to November 30. (These dates will vary please call
the office to get the exact dates)
Cost for garbage pickup and recycling service is $13.55 per month per household and is included on
the
monthly water bill.
